About The Angel at Rose Hall
Welcome to The Angel at Rose Hall Bed and Breakfast
With timeless grace and charm, The Angel at Rose Hall is the perfect setting for your special getaway in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Our sincere wish is to make your stay unforgettable—from the moment you arrive, surrounded by elegant Victorian antiques and century-old stained-glass windows.
More than just luxurious surroundings, our Arkansas bed and breakfast is about meaningful moments—sharing gourmet breakfasts, savoring peace and comfort, and celebrating love. Whether you're reconnecting with your partner or seeking quiet relaxation, we’re here to provide a memorable experience.
Purpose-Built for Comfort
Unlike many converted Victorian homes, The Angel at Rose Hall Bed and Breakfast was designed from the ground up as a bed and breakfast. That means every room is spacious, thoughtfully appointed, and built for pampering. From soundproofing and thermal windows to two-person jetted tubs, every detail reflects our commitment to comfort and luxury.
A Blend of Old and New
During construction, artisans combined historic elegance with modern craftsmanship—blending Irish stained glass, antique light fixtures, hand-carved mantles, and towering pocket doors with contemporary materials like honed slate and aged brick. The result: a stately yet welcoming retreat with tall ceilings, handcrafted finishes, and private views.
Luxury Above the Trees
Our five suites, perched atop the mansion, offer breathtaking views of East Mountain. By day, sunlight filters through the trees; by night look to the east, the Christ of the Ozarks statue glows in the starlit sky.
Yes, Men Love It Too
Don't worry—your man will love it here. Spacious rooms, oversized jetted tubs, and hearty breakfasts tend to win them over quickly. And don’t forget the homemade baked goodies and drinks, always available for snacking.
Steps from Downtown
We're just a short walk from downtown Eureka Springs—near art galleries, boutiques, and a variety of restaurants and bars. Enjoy a quiet moment at Harding or Crescent Springs or indulge in the local food scene, from cozy cafés to farm-to-table dining. Don't miss regional favorites like fried catfish or biscuits and gravy.
A Romantic Escape in the Ozarks
Nestled in the heart of the Historic District, The Angel at Rose Hall Bed and Breakfast offers a private, luxurious escape in one of the most charming towns in the Ozarks. Whether you're here for history, culture, or nature, Eureka Springs promises beauty, discovery, and adventure at every turn.
Meet Your Hosts: Susan & Darrell
Susan and Darrell first met while serving in the U.S. Air Force in 1975. They married a year later in 1976, eventually raising three children and spending most of their military life in Texas. After their service, they settled in Amarillo, where they lived for 28 years—a bit of a culture shock, especially for Susan!
Darrell graduated from the University of Texas Medical School in 1984 and specialized in Emergency Medicine. Susan embraced homeschooling, a decision that deeply shaped the direction of their family. With God as the principal of their little school, their children grew in both faith and purpose.
Today, their kids have followed unique paths:
- Philip chose a career in commercial heating and air conditioning.
- Aaron, like his father, became a physician in Emergency Medicine.
- Hillary took a more winding road—she and her husband now run a vineyard and craft what may very well be the best wine in Colorado.
Yes, they are proud parents (and even prouder grandparents—but don't get Susan started on that, or we’ll be here all day!).
In 2023, they began asking, “What’s next?” Since they’ve always loved hosting people in their home, buying a bed and breakfast seemed like a natural next step. They were right—it’s a joy to run The Angel at Rose Hall Bed and Breakfast and welcome guests from around the world. They were wrong, however, about things slowing down!
The best part? Sharing this beautiful home with others and hearing the stories each guest brings. They don’t know exactly what God has in store next—but they invite you to stay in touch and see where the journey leads.
